How to detect fake:

Super Nintendo Classic Edition

The Super Nintendo Classic Edition, comes with twenty-one Super NES titles pre-installed games, including the first official release of Star Fox 2, Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario Kart & Zelda: A link To The Past. It was released in North America and Europe on September 29, 2017. After it's initial release, Many counterfeit versions of this system began to flood the market. Below are a few steps to identify fake systems.

The first thing to look for is low printing quality and spelling errors on the box. If you see any spelling errors at all, it's definitely a fake.

Next, look at the serial numbers... on the box and console. Both numbers should match each other and should start with "SU". As you can see in the fake above, the serial number starts with "CU".

Next, check the console weight. Authentic consoles weigh right at 190 grams. Fake systems are usually much less, as you can see in the fake above.

Next, check the wall adapter. Counterfeit manufacturers do not produce fake wall adapters so if you see one like the one on the right, it's not authentic.

Next, look at the HDMI cable. Authentic systems come with an HDMI cable that has "Nintendo" printed on one side of the plug.

Next, look at the connectors on the controllers. Authentic controllers are a dark gray color... fake controllers are generally black, as you can see in the fake above.
