How to detect fake:

Bulova Marine Star Watches

Bulova was founded and incorporated as the J. Bulova Company in 1875 by Joseph Bulova. In 1919, Joseph Bulova offered the first complete range of watches for men. In recent years, counterfeit versions of the Bulova line have been showing up and being past as authentic. Below are some steps to make sure you have an authentic Bulova watch.

To start, make sure your watch has no flaws. Make sure all spelling is correct and the quality of the lettering, whether on the dial or the box, is crisp and of high quality.

If your watch is new, make sure it comes with a separate plastic bag with extra links and pins. If all the links are on the watch, it's fake.

Next, if the watch is new, it should come with a Bulova pillow that is used for display. The stitching should not be seen and it should have the logo printed all over like the one above.

Next, look at the subdials. They should all be recessed lower than the main dial. If they are part of the main dial, it's fake.

Next, make sure the bezel only turns in the counter clockwise direction. If it turns clockwise, it's fake.

Next, take a look at the logo icon. It should be very reflective and have a 3D look. If it is just printed on, you probably have a fake.

Note: there are some exceptions, like the c876763, that have a flat brushed finish but it is a separate overlay, not painted.
